Andres is Senior Vice President Strategy and Business Development
Andres is responsible for overseeing strategy and business development and focuses on defining, enabling, and executing the commercial and technical strategy of Intersect’s product offerings. This includes but is not limited to, enabling opportunities across energy storage, data centers, green hydrogen, green fuels, and other emerging technologies or business models that create a pathway between clean electricity and the broader economy.
Before joining Intersect Power, Andres worked at Macquarie Group as the Senior Vice President of Global Energy Technology, where he focused on the firm’s principal investments across the energy transition, including energy storage, electric vehicles, and new energy technologies. Prior to that, he held the role of Senior Manager of Global Business Development and Market Entry for Tesla Energy, where he led the strategy and contracting for Tesla’s largest utility-scale energy storage systems, and previously also held roles at Recurrent Energy and E3 - Energy and Environmental Economics.
Andres holds a BS and a BA, Engineering and Economics from Swarthmore College.
Andres lives in California with his wife. He is originally from Venezuela and enjoys playing soccer and discovering new Latin American restaurants in the Bay Area.
Hendrick is Senior Vice President Procurement
With more than 18 years of solar experience, Hendrick leads Intersect’s procurement team which is responsible for selecting and transacting with the equipment and EPC counterparties. He manages the overall procurement process and planning, negotiates and executes EPC and equipment contracts, and builds strong relationships with suppliers and EPCs. Hendrick has significant experience in supply chain and equipment product management with a focus on future cost roadmap.
Prior to joining Intersect Power in 2017, Hendrick was Senior Vice President, Strategic Procurement at Recurrent Energy, one of North America’s largest solar project developers. Hendrick closed more than 30 transactions of $3.8B values and directed the procurement strategy and negotiation for optimal price discovery and risk allocation.
Hendrick holds a Master’s Degree, Engineering in Information Science from the University of Cambridge.
Hendrick lives in California with his wife and son. He enjoys outdoor activities, running, and tennis.
Brandon is Senior Vice President Development
With more than 15 years of experience, Brandon oversees Intersect’s development, real estate, and permitting efforts. In this role, he has led a team that has developed and delivered more than 3.2 GW of utility-scale solar and 1.5 GWh of batteries to commercial operation. Brandon possesses significant project development expertise, with a focus on siting, interconnection, and power marketing, as well as late-stage experience financing, constructing, and commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, Brandon was Senior Director of Development at Recurrent Energy, successfully bringing a large portfolio of projects in the U.S. and Canada to commercial operation. He started his career at TD Securities working in various roles covering strategy, foreign exchange, and fixed income products.
Brandon holds an HBA from Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
Brandon lives in Canada with his wife and two kids. He enjoys sports, live music, and travel.
Julia is Senior Vice President Engineering and Construction
Julia leads Intersect’s engineering and construction team, which validates land selection, identifies and mitigates project and financial risk, optimizes schedules and budgets, negotiates vendor and contractor contracts, closes and manages construction financing, hires and manages consultants, and oversees the construction of multiple sites simultaneously and the handover to operations. Julia brings more than 20 years of experience in project management, development engineering, and construction finance.
Before Intersect Power, Julia was the Head of Commercial Energy Deployment at Tesla. She oversaw the team responsible for the deployment and installation of commercial and utility energy systems, including estimating; siting; permitting; subcontractor procurement; contract negotiations and management; schedule, budget, project, and construction management; and installation for solar, solar + storage, and storage projects.
Previously, she was Senior Manager, Engineering with SunPower Corporation where she managed a portfolio of over 750 MW of late stage development projects and 2+ GW of early stage development projects.
Julia holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Union College and a MS of Engineering and Project Management from University of California, Berkeley, and is a licensed civil engineer in California.
Julia lives in California with her husband and three kids. She loves to cook and enjoys time outdoors, trying to fit in as much running, stand-up paddling, and skiing as possible.
Ashley is Senior Vice President Origination and Trading and Intersect Power
Ashley leads Intersect’s Origination and Trading team, which is responsible for executing long-term offtake contracts for the growing portfolio as well as short-term hedges to maximize risk-adjusted returns for the operating portfolio. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in energy trading and origination at IPPs, clean energy platforms, and investment banks.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, Ashley was an ERCOT Trader and Energy Marketer at Brookfield Renewable, where she managed the trading book tied to the operating wind portfolio in ERCOT. She managed market exposure and increased portfolio value by trading energy swaps and basis hedges.
Previously, she worked as a Power Originator at TerraForm Power and in trading roles at BNP Paribas and Morgan Stanley. At TerraForm Power, she executed various offtake contracts to hedge operating wind assets in New England ISO, ERCOT, and NY ISO. At BNP Paribas, she traded physical gas and managed gas storage assets in the Northeast, Mid-continent, and Texas. At Morgan Stanley, she traded physical power and managed load-following 24/7 obligations for co-ops in Georgia.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from Iona University, a Masters of Public Administration - Energy and Sustainability Management from Columbia University, and a United States Air Force Parachutist Badge.
Ashley lives in Miami, FL with her partner and twin daughters. She is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy, and enjoys traveling, fitness, and spending time near the ocean.
Anneli is Senior Vice President Capital Markets
Anneli is responsible for overseeing the Project Finance, Portfolio Finance, and Treasury functions. She is a project finance executive with over 15 years of experience structuring and executing financing transactions spanning various types of debt and equity products in the renewable energy industry.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, Anneli was Senior Vice President of Project Finance for Invenergy where she worked on utility scale wind, solar, storage, and conventional power generating asset financings in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Anneli holds a BS, General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a MBA, Finance, Accounting, Operations from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Anneli lives in Taos, New Mexico where she enjoys many of the mountain and river activities the area has to offer and watching many spectacular sunsets.
Nick Spicer is Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at Intersect Power.
Nick is responsible for overseeing strategy and business development, external affairs, policy, IT, human resources and corporate initiatives. Passionate about energy transition, Nick has spent his career working in various parts of the energy industry across a number of finance, commercial, and engineering roles.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, Nick managed Investor Relations for Chevron, where he worked with the executive team on the development of external messaging and strategy. Prior to Investor Relations, Nick held several roles of increasing responsibility at Chevron including in Treasury and M&A. Nick also worked for BP, taking on several operational roles within engineering, including assignments at a natural gas liquids facility in Colorado, an offshore platform in the US Gulf of Mexico, and in Azerbaijan.
Nick holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
Nick lives in California with his wife and two daughters. He loves the outdoors and takes his family backpacking each summer. He is currently progressing his goal of hiking the John Muir Trail with his kids.
Jen Manter is Executive Vice President, Legal and Administration, General Counsel at Intersect Power.
With more than 20 years of legal experience, Jen is responsible for leading the corporate legal, real estate legal, insurance risk management, human resources, and information technology function of the company.
Jen joined Intersect Power in 2017 after seven years as a commercial real estate attorney at Pircher, Nichols & Meeks (now White & Case). Throughout her tenure, she has provided valuable counsel to clients on large-scale real estate acquisition, sale and financing transactions, and honed her expertise in land development and leasing.
Jen began her career at Winston & Strawn in the firm’s litigation group, practicing as a general commercial litigation attorney in New York City and Chicago. She advised clients across a spectrum of legal matters, including telecommunications and false advertising cases, as well as real estate and general contractual disputes.
Jen earned her JD from Duke University School of Law, where she was an editor of the Duke Law Journal. She also holds a MA from Washington University and earned a BA from Northwestern University. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy and holds extensive legal relationships within the renewable energy legal industry.
Jen lives in San Diego with her husband and daughter. She is a theater fan and especially enjoys watching her daughter perform.
John Cook is Chief Legal Officer at Intersect Power.
In his role, John is responsible for overseeing the Company’s legal affairs and operations. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology, cleantech, and energy industries, leading hundreds of M&A and financing transactions for both public and private organizations.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, John was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, leading the San Francisco Corporate Group and supported several of the firms’ practices including: Technology and Innovation, Energy and Infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions, and Technology Companies Group.
He has represented clients in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions, including negotiated mergers, auction bid processes, cross-border transactions, distressed asset sales, leveraged buyouts, and more.
John earned his JD and BA from the University of California, Davis. He is also a member of the Chambers USA, Projects: Renewables and Alternative Energy.
John lives in Kauai with his wife and two youngest boys. He enjoys the live music scene and considers himself a foodie.
Nick Pape is Chief Financial Officer at Intersect Power.
In his role, Nick is responsible for overseeing all the company’s financial operations. He has significant expertise in the areas of project finance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling and valuation.
Prior to joining Intersect Power, Nick was Vice President of Corporate Finance for Recurrent Energy, one of North America’s largest solar project developers, where he was an integral part of the team that secured over $6 billion in financing for renewable assets. Nick was previously an economic consultant at Deloitte, where he advised multinational clients on valuation and transfer pricing.
Nick holds an MBA from the University of San Francisco and a BA from the University of Washington.
Nick lives in Guam with his wife and three children and loves sports, competition, and travel. His perfect day consists of walking and eating his way through a new city.
Simon Ross is Chief Commercial Officer at Intersect Power.
In his role, Simon oversees development, engineering, construction, procurement, and operations and trading, leveraging more than 15 years of international experience as an operating executive, investor and lawyer in the energy industry.
Before Intersect Power, Simon was a Managing Director in the Energy Technology team at Macquarie Green Investment Group, where he led venture, growth, and project equity investments.
Previously, he was Deputy General Counsel for Tesla’s energy business, where he was responsible for the structuring and execution of landmark projects including many of the world’s first standalone and PV paired utility scale energy storage systems. He also played a key role in the team responsible for the acquisition and integration of SolarCity.
Prior to Tesla, Simon worked for Recurrent Energy as Senior Vice President of Commercial Transactions and Vice President Associate General Counsel during a period when the company developed and financed over 1GW of utility scale solar projects across North America.
Simon has an MA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from St. Hugh’s College, Oxford and a law degree from BPP University in London.
Simon lives in Berkeley with his wife and three children, hails from the UK, and spends his weekends trying to keep his cool at his kids' soccer games.
Luke Dunnington is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Intersect Power. He is a member of the investment committee, has a hand in setting strategy and manages our day to day operations.
Prior to co-founding Intersect Power, Luke was the Senior Vice President of Development for Recurrent Energy, one of North America’s largest solar project developers. Luke oversaw all aspects of Recurrent Energy’s project development across the United States from land acquisition, interconnection, and permitting to construction, commissioning, and power marketing. In his eight years at Recurrent Energy, Luke led an accomplished team of seasoned developers responsible for advancing Recurrent Energy’s more than four-gigawatt project pipeline and more than two-gigawatt contracted project portfolio. During his tenure, the team brought nearly a gigawatt and a half of solar projects to commercial operation.
Luke holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a B.A. in History and Psychology from the University of Virginia.
Luke lives in California with his wife and three children with whom he enjoys the kids’ sports, time in the mountains, exploring agriculture, philanthropy, and traveling Latin America.
Sheldon Kimber is the CEO and Founder of Intersect Power.
Sheldon has been a builder, a leader, and an innovator in clean energy since the early days of the industry. He has committed his professional life to advancing low-carbon solutions that enable the deep decarbonization of our global economy. His leadership, experience, and understanding of energy and financial markets have been a key part of building multiple clean energy startups into some of the largest companies in the industry.
In his role as CEO and Founder of Intersect Power, Sheldon defined a unique vision for the future of clean energy with proven innovations in the existing renewable business model and a differentiated growth strategy in new areas of clean infrastructure. In three years and with one of the best teams of professionals in the industry, he has overseen the transformation of this vision into one of the largest clean energy companies in North America. Under his leadership, the company has developed 4 GW of total renewable capacity and operates a portfolio of 2.2 GW of Solar PV and 1.4 GWh of co-located storage.
Prior to founding Intersect Power, Sheldon served as Chief Operating Officer at Recurrent Energy, helping to build the company from an early-stage startup to a market leadership position in North American utility-scale solar. During his tenure, Recurrent successfully developed over 2 GW of solar projects across the U.S. and Canada.
Sheldon previously spent five years at Calpine, one of the nation’s largest power generation companies, working on the finance and development of gas-fired power projects. He has also worked as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs and as a strategy consultant at Accenture, specializing in power-price forecasting and asset valuation for utility clients.
Sheldon holds a BA in Economics from Kenyon College and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where he spent 10 years teaching Project Finance in the full-time MBA program. He is also an active member of several non-profit boards and an angel investor and advisor within the clean energy sector.

Intersect Power had the honor of serving as the presenting sponsor for the 2024 ‘Reading with RUCKUS’ literacy education program, in partnership with the Amarillo Sod Poodles! This initiative is dedicated to fostering literacy and educational engagement among local students by offering incentives as they achieve specific milestones. To launch the program, the beloved Sod Poodles mascot, RUCKUS, made special appearances at assemblies in participating schools, igniting excitement for reading among students. The Hereford Food Pantry addresses hunger by providing food for residents of Deaf Smith County. Intersect Power made a donation to support the Food Pantry’s efforts in combating hunger in the area.
The Hereford Sports and Wellness Center provides wholesome sports programs, fitness opportunities, and other community-building activities for the citizens of Hereford and the surrounding region. Intersect Power collaborated with the Wellness Center and the City of Hereford, contributing to the construction of a new regional softball/baseball complex in Deaf Smith County. This park will benefit the city and surrounding areas by hosting regional tournaments.
The Deaf Smith County Crisis Center provides support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We contributed to the Crisis Center’s programs with a general donation.
Panhandle Community Services works to change the lives of low-income people by bridging the gap from poverty to self sufficiency.
We have provided funds to support the organization’s weatherization and assistance programs in Deaf Smith, Gray, and Roberts counties.
We are a proud member of the Deaf Smith Chamber of Commerce and recently provided funds to help support an initiative to add new signs in the community.
